1 - We do not reduce the size or quality of the video for downloads and so please be patient as these are big files but well worth the wait.
2 - Once the course is downloaded, unzip it to your desktop.
3 - Downloadable TrueFire courses do NOT play in standard DVD players. They are WIN/MAC compatible and play only through the included TrueFire player.
4 - We know you must be anxious to dig in BUT please open the course folder and review the START HERE file and HOW TO folder.
5 - If you are running Windows and choose to ignore the preceding advice - and plan to work with the power tab files - at least make sure you install Power Tab with the free installer included for Windows only.
Power Tab files can be imported by Guitar Pro 5, which works on both PCs and Macs. TabView will also play Power Tabs on a Mac. PDF versions of all tab and notation is also provided for all users.
6 - For optimal performance, work with the course on your hard drive BUT make sure you back up the course by burning it to a DATA-DVD disk or storing it on an external drive.
7 - Practice smart. Play hard.
Your TrueFire course was compressed into a "zip file" to make it smaller and easier to download. You MUST "unzip" that file before working with the course. Here's how ...
1- Download the zipped file to your desktop (or wherever you prefer).
2- Make sure you have a program that will "unzip" or "extract" zipped files. We use WinZip (get a free trial version here at www.winzip.com) but there's lots of other programs that will works as well.
*Vista users may need to use WinZip, 7Zip or Winrar to deal with a Vista issue. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952249
3- Once you're sure you have a program installed that will unzip files, simply double-click the downloaded zipped file, or right-click it and select "extract all" and tell it where to put the unzipped files.
4- Once the files are unzipped, you'll find a folder inside of which are all of the folders and files that comprise your course.
5- Windows users simply click the Guitar Icon to open the course. Mac users click the "Mac Player" or "Course Player" icon.
6- Back-up the zipped file for safekeeping and you should also keep the unzipped file on your hard drive for best performance.
Dig in!
What if you lose a download? If it's been less than 48 hours, you may still download the file(s) in My Downloads.
After 72 hours, email us at info@truefire.com and we'll figure something out for you.
Remember that the My Account section contains a complete list of all of the items that you've ever downloaded so we've both got a permanent record of all of your downloads to work with.
