1. Join

The first thing you'll want to do is sign up for a TrueFire membership. You can join for free or you can choose one of our paying student plans and get greater access to learning tools and videos. If you're unsure about which plan to select, just go with the free one and give it a try. You get 30 days of full access (as well as some other great perks) so you'll have plenty of time to figure out what you'd get from a paid student plan.

2. Choose a Style or Skill Level

After you've signed up, it's time to browse our library of guitar instruction. The first step is to pick a style on the left hand side of our website. You can choose from Blues, Jazz, Rock, Country, Acoustic, and Techniques.

You also have the option of selecting Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced if you'd rather browse based on skill level. We have bass guitar and drums material too. Alternatively, you can check out our full catalog and see everything on one page.

3. Choose a Course

Once you've chosen a style or skill level, the next thing you'll want to do is to explore our courses. A course is a full study program complete with video guitar lessons, tab and notation charts, jam tracks, and text commentary from the instructor. Each of our courses contains different curriculum, so you'll want to see what it's all about by reading the full description page and checking out the course introduction video. You can also jump right to the videos by clicking the "Watch Now" button on the style and skill level pages or the "Watch Video Samples" bursts on the full description pages.

4. Choose a Method (Download, Disk, or Streaming)

Next, you have to decide how you want to work with the content. You have 2 choices:

A) Purchase a course individually and either download it immediately to your computer or order it on disk. If you choose this option, you will be working with the course offline in our software player (seen left), which contains the videos, charts, jam tracks, and text commentaries ... or

B) Sign up or upgrade to one of our paid subscription plans and get full access to all our courses via our streaming video platform, TrueFireTV, which also gives you access to all charts, jam tracks, and text.

5. Practice Smart, Play Hard

The final step is to pick up the guitar, dig in, and play! All our courses are organized in an easy-to-follow format and everything should be pretty straight forward. You can check out our student forum or blog for supplementary discussions and posts or to interact with other students. If you have any questions whatsoever, you can always contact us via email, check out our FAQ, or call us at 1 (800) 222-3366. We love feedback so don't be shy!
