The TrueFire iPad app is free to download from the iTunes Store. Once installed and launched on your iPad, see the steps below to learn how it works.
SIGN IN or JOIN FREE
If you are an existing TrueFire.com student, please login with your TrueFire.com username and password. This ensures your current TrueFire Student Plan access and existing course purchases will be recognized in the app. If you are not an existing student, you can join for free.
If you just want to peek around the app, feel free to "skip" the login option.
NOTE: Any iPad purchase made as a guest will not sync to a TrueFire.com account. In order to download the computer software version of your purchase from TrueFire.com (and get access to available Tab (gp5 or ptb) files, you must log into your TrueFire account prior to purchase.
Once logged in, you main screen give you a glance at TrueFire's recently released courses, recommended courses and what's currently trending.
Visit "Options" (top right) to view your current account options, connect to Facebook (necessary for sharing courses and posting comments) and update account access.
NOTE: Updating your account password within the TrueFire iPad app, will change your password when logging into TrueFire.com
TABLE OF CONTENTS - FINDING COURSES
From the main screen, use the Table of Contents icon (top left) of the page to access the table of contents for viewing all courses.
From here you can search by:
"Favorites" - Courses you've marked as a favorite from within the app
"My iPad Courses" - Your purchased TrueFire courses
"Educators" - Search by instructors names
"Styles" - Search by various genres
"Skill Level" - Search for courses based on skill level
You can also choose to "Search" for a course title by using the search box at the top of the app.
WORKING WITH A COURSE
Each individual course page gives tons of information about that specific course. You can read about the course in the "Course Overview", see the available lessons & assets, release date, and course size in the "Table of Contents", read more "About the Educator", read and/or add your own "Comment" using the Facebook comment tool, view similar courses "You May Also Like", add the course to your "Favorites", and "Share" it on Facebook or via email.
To purchase the course, simply select the "Buy Course + iPad Access" and purchase using your iTunes account. Learn more about buying courses within the iPad app
To view the lesson videos (including the free full-length samples), select the "Watch Now" button.
WATCHING VIDEO LESSONS AND DOWNLOADING VIDEOS
Clicking "Watch Now" starts to play the introduction video for this course. While the video is playing you can choose to ready the lesson "Overview" or review the "Chart" when applicable.
Use the "Table of Contents" icon (top left) to view the full Table of Contents for this specific course.
Each course comes with a "Sampler" folder containing free full-length video lessons available for streaming (over your WiFi connection).
Once you've purchase the full course, you'll have the ability to stream and/or download all available video lessons for this course.
Landscape/full-screen mode: This feature is not currently available in the iPad app. We are working on integrating this in future app update.
In the meantime, if you prefer watching your videos in full-screen/landscape mode you can do that on the iPad be logging into your TrueFire account under the browser (Safari, Chrome, etc). Here you can go to My Courses and click "watch now" to stream the course online with full-screen functionality.
DOWNLOAD VS. STREAMING
All Access students (and free students accessing the free full-length video lessons) can stream applicable videos using their WiFi connection.
All students must purchase the full course to download the video file to their iPad.
Downloading the course gives offline access to the lessons, plus activates the advanced video player controls: looping, zooming and slo-mo controls (video and audio)
