Before You Install: Things to Know (Desktop App)

Before you install the TrueFire Desktop App, there are a few programs which will ensure you are getting the optimal experience from our course player when viewing your video lessons. The Desktop app is Windows (7+) and Mac (OS 10.7+) compatible (it does not work on Linux). You will only need to download the Desktop app and install the below programs one time. 

Required Installation

TrueFire Desktop App

The TrueFire Desktop app is powered by Adobe Air. Adobe Air will automatically install during the installation of the Desktop App Player. but if you are getting an error messages using installation or, you can install Adobe Air: Install Adobe Air (free). Be sure to always update Adobe Air when prompted.

Adobe Reader DC for Embedded PDF Chart

The PDF charts are now embedded inside the Desktop App using Adobe Reader DC. 

Install Adobe Reader DC

Recommend (but optional) Program 

TUX Guitar or Guitar Pro for Interactive Tab (GP5/PTB)

The interactive tab files are optional as you will receive the same tab and notation in the embedded/printable PDF chart files.

The GP5 and PTB interactive tab files require a third-party tab software to run. We recommend using either TUX Guitar or Guitar Pro.  Learn more and install tab program
